Guest Post: 8 Things Successful Creative Entrepreneurs Do

Over the years, the number of people pursuing creative entrepreneurship has continued to rise. With the perks of living a freelance life, is anyone really surprised?

Creative entrepreneurship gives people the freedom to:

  • Work from anywhere in the world
  • Set their own schedules
  • Pursue their passions

From freelance writers and graphic designers to calligraphers and photographers, creative businesses are growing more than ever. That being said, creative entrepreneurship comes with its own risks. Without the right strategy or mindset, a business can fail. No one wants to see their business tank, especially while others in the same or similar industry seem to thrive. So, what does it take to be a successful creative entrepreneur?

That's what I'm talking about in my latest guest post on the 3MP/Studio blog.

The post, “8 Things Successful Creative Entrepreneurs Do,” covers some of the traits and characteristics common among successful creative entrepreneurs.

While there are many things that make a business successful, a lot of it depends on what the person behind it does and does not do. Here's an example.

A successful creative entrepreneur DOES NOT let the fear of failure hold them back. Rather than giving in to the fear of failing, they embrace it and use that fear to drive them towards success. They also recognize failure is part of the process and how they deal with it determines the outcome. Some wallow in their failure and use it as an excuse to throw in the towel completely. Others view their failure for what it is—an opportunity to learn, grow, and adapt. The only way to be successful is to overcome the failures and learn to pivot rather than cave.
